It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the NHAM’s Annual Scientific Meeting 2017.

This meeting is the pinnacle event for our society every year. It brings together likeminded colleagues, friends and foes, researchers and clinicians, allied health and nursing, teachers and students, all together under one roof for three days. We hope to offer something for everyone, strengthening networking, building research collaborations, sharing clinical experiences and casting our sights to the future as well as the past in setting our goals together.

The advent of mobile healthcare will be addressed and utilised. This will hopefully be the catalyst to the future of closer patient to healthcare provider interaction, recognizing illness and disease in its early phase. Cardiovascular disease affects not only the elderly, but there are many unrecognized cases of sudden cardiac death claiming the lives of loved ones prematurely. Sessions dedicated to this will hope to improve awareness and help prevent this depressing condition.

The programme in 2017 will be build on past successes, recognizing gaps in knowledge sharing and strengthening key areas to help deliver excellent cardiovascular care to our patients.
