Personal History
Dr Abhishek Joshi is a Cardiologist based in London. He is a Cardiology Registrar at Barts Heart Centre and a Clinical Research Training Fellow at the British Heart Foundation. He holds a PhD in Cardiovascular Science from King’s College London.
In his spare time, Dr Joshi plays the bass guitar and enjoys video games.2
Academic History
In 2003, he obtained his BA in Philosophy, Psychology and Physiology from the University of Oxford. Following this, he earned an BMBCh in Medicine (Fast Track) from St. Hugh’s College in 2008. Dr Joshi then completed his PhD in Cardiovascular Science from King’s College London in 2019.1
His PhD investigated molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease as part of a joint project between King’s College, London and the Barts Heart Centre.1
Dr Joshi was awarded a BHF Clinical Research Training Fellowship to investigate how individual differences in platelets change the risk of heart attacks, using the advanced proteomic techniques available at the James Black Centre.1
