Dr Augusto Pichard, MD, is Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr Pichard is also Vice Chair of the Board of the MedStar Heart Institute and a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Georgetown University.
Dr. Pichard's research include Invasive Cardiology, including percutaneous valve repair and replacement.
Dr Pichard has written more than 500 manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals on numerous topics in Invasive Cardiology, including innovative heart disease treatment techniques. He also serves on several editorial boards and is a fellow of numerous professional organizations, both in the United States and in Chile. He is a Charter Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography.
