Biography
Dr Daniel Thuijs, MD, currently works as a PhD-fellow at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Erasmus MC. He will start his Residency in Cardiothoracic surgery in October '19.
Daniel is involved in research regarding Cardiothoracic surgery and Cardiology. Currently, his main projects are, among others, (i) the "SYNTAX Extended Survival study" (10-year survival follow-up on patients (n=1800) with de novo three vessel and left main coronary artery disease randomized in the SYNTAX trial to undergo CABG or PCI with paclitaxel-eluting stents patients) and (ii) prespecifief subgroup analyses of the randomized "EXCEL trial' that included patients (n=1905) with left main coronary artery disease and non-complex coronary anatomy to undergo PCI with everolimus-eluting stents or CABG.
