Dr Ward Heggermont

Ward Heggermont obtained his Medical Degree in 2009 at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium).

He worked as a student-researcher in the Rega Institute (Leuven, Belgium), between 2004 and 2007, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Erik De Clercq and Prof. Dr. Johan Neyts. He has a particular interest in the overlapping scientific fields of Virology and Cardiology, and Metabolism. 
He currently works at the Academic Hospital of Aalst and he will continue his research at the centre in Maastricht, and at the Hospital of Aalst, Belgium where he is co-Director of the Cardiovascular Center.
