Dr Ingrid Dumitriu is currently a Reader in Cardiovascular Immunology at the University of Birmingham's Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences. She was previously a Reader at St George's at the University of London, leading the Cardiovascular Immunology research group.
Dr Dumitriu was awarded her PhD in Immunology from the San Raffaele DIBIT Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy. She then went on to postdoctoral work at the Imperial College, London, and the University of Edinburgh.
Her research interests include the cellular and molecular mechanisms associated with sustained inflammation of cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis and atrial fibrillation.
Dr Dumitriu is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and is on the Editorial Board of European Cardiology Review.
