Academic History
Dr Uchmanowicz studied for her Master’s degree in Nursing at the Wroclaw Medical University, prior to studying for her Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing at New York University in 1997.

Prof Uchmanowicz is currently a Professor and Chief Nurse at the Institute of Heart Diseases at Wroclaw University, Poland. At this institution, her research encompasses heart failure, including self-care for patients living with the disease, and adherence to medication. Previously, Prof Uchmanowicz worked as a Senior Medical Representative at Alcon Polska SP in Wroclaw. Recognition
In 2021, Prof Uchmanowicz was the winner of the OPUS competition of the National Science Center NCN. She has also been awarded a POST-DOC grant by the European Society of Cardiology Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions in 2009.
