Jaikirshan Khatri

Personal History

Dr Jaikirshan J. Khatri is a Cardiology Specialist and Director of Complex Coronary Interventions at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio.

His clinical focus is on treatment of chronic total occlusions. In addition to his coronary practice, Dr Khatri performs peripheral, carotid and structural interventions and is facile in alternative access for large bore arterial catheters.⁷

In his leisure time, Dr Khatri enjoys photography, travel and spending time with his family.

Academic History

Dr Khatri earned a bachelor’s in Natural Sciences at the University of Akron, Ohio and got his MD from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, Ohio (1997). He completed his internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (1997 - 2000).^{1, 2}

He then pursued two fellowships in interventional cardiology (2005 - 2006) and cardiovascular disease (2001 - 2005) at Emory University.^{2, 3} 

Career Overview

Dr Khatri is a cardiologist in the Section of Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic. He is also Director of Complex Coronary Interventions. After a decade in private practice, he joined Cleveland Clinic in 2016.^{1, 3, 4}

Dr Khatri has been the local principal investigator on a number of studies investigating new therapeutic options for a variety of cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary conditions. He has also co-authored several scientific papers and reviews published in leading medical journals. Dr Khatri is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).^{1, 2}
