Biography
Dr Kathleen Zhang works as an assistant professor in the UT Southwestern Medical Center's department of internal medicine. She is an expert in cardio-oncology, the treatment of cancer patients' cardiovascular systems.
Dr Zhang obtained her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine. Her specialized training in cardiology and cardio-oncology includes fellowships at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, as well as by the National Board of Echocardiography in adult comprehensive echocardiography. Dr Zhang became a part of the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
With a focus on the cardiovascular care of cancer patients throughout their journey, from pre-treatment to post-treatment phases, Dr Zhang holds the title of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the International Cardio-Oncology Society.
Dr Zhang's research interests include cardiovascular outcomes in men with prostate cancer, cardiovascular safety of cancer therapeutics and the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac amyloidosis.
