Dr Lawrence N Shulman is Deputy Director for Clinical Services at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also Director of the Center for Global Cancer Medicine.
Currently Dr Shulman is Chair of the Commission on Cancer and serves on the National Cancer Policy Forum of the National Academy. Formerly, he was Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality of Care Committee.
From 2014 - 2017, he led the World Health Organisation's review and revision of their Essential Medicines for Cancer. Dr Shulman specialises in the treatment of patients with breast cancer, and his research includes the development of new cancer therapies, and innovations in cancer care delivery in resource-constrained settings, including Rwanda, Botswana and Haiti.
