Biography
Lutz Buellesfeld is co-founder and head of the Siegburg Cardiovascular Research Centre at the Siegburg Heart Centre. He received his first degree in medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm University, Bonn. He undertook a post-doctoral research fellowship at Stanford University Centre for Research in Cardiovascular Interventions. His cardiology training was completed at the University of Bonn Medical School and Department of Cardiology and Angiology Siegburg Heart Centre.
Dr Buellesfeld is head of internal medicine at St Marien Hospital Bonn-Venusberg and head of cardiology of St Josef Hospital Bonn-Beuel. He is also head of interventional cardiology at both hospitals.
Dr Buellesfeld is a member of the German, Swiss and European Society of Cardiology, the Interventional Cardiology Working Group, the Adult Congenital Heart Defects working group, the Cardiac Disease Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology, and the American Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and speaks regularly at national and international congresses.
