Biography
M Chadi Alraies, MD MPH FACC is medical director of cardiac catheterization laboratory, cardiac rehab and director of interventional cardiology research at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, US. He is also an assistant clinical professor at Wayne State University.
He received his medical degree from the School of Medicine, the University of Aleppo in Syria. He completed his internship and residency at Case Western University/St Vincent Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota, where he also received his Master of Public Health. He completed his interventional cardiology training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, US.
Dr Alraies clinical and research interest is focused on complex coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support, large bore vascular access, and medical education. He has published more than 280 manuscripts in major peer-review journals and several book chapters on topics related to complex coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. He has a special interest in digital and social media as learning tools for healthcare providers. He is a speaker and has moderated at national and interventional educational programs focused on interventional cardiology techniques, science and publications with experts in the field of interventional cardiology.
Dr Alraies serves on the Interventional Cardiology Review (ICR3) journal as Deputy Editor (Coronary) since October 2021 and is a section editor for US Cardiology Review.
