Professor Rajiv Das is a consultant interventional cardiologist at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital, specializing in the management of coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease, with a focus on coronary interventions and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
He is highly proficient in performing coronary angioplasty, providing revascularization for patients with angina and acute myocardial infarction. Additionally, Professor Das has extensive expertise in treating severe aortic stenosis using minimally invasive TAVI procedures, employing the latest techniques to optimize patient outcomes.
Beyond his clinical practice, Professor Das serves as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University, where he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, a role he finds highly rewarding.
