Prof Sazzil Kasim is the National Specialist Register (NSR) Certified trainer in Cardiology. He also leads the construction of Universiti Teknologi MARA’s teaching hospital in Puncak Alam, Selangor.
With a passion to raise the standards of cardiology care and services in Malaysia, Prof Kasim has been actively involved in the education and training of the medical community in this field. He has delivered many lectures and seminars for both the public and healthcare professionals in raising awareness in cardiovascular conditions and other disease areas. He was the Organizing Chair for the Annual Scientific Meeting for the National Heart Association in 2017, and an active member of the European Society of Cardiology, Irish Cardiac Society, and European Atherosclerotic Society. He is an avid researcher as well as involved in several guidelines writing committees pertinent to his field.
Prof Kasim graduated from the National University of Ireland, Cork with MB BCh in 2001 and subsequently completed his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in 2011 and was awarded the Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) from Irish College of Higher Medical Training. He is currently a council member with the National Heart Association Malaysia and the College of Physician Malaysia as well as a fellow with the European Society of Cardiology.
Prof Kasim is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, published by Radcliffe Cardiology on behalf of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology.
