Biography

Personal History

Dr Thomas Gilpin is a British cardiologist. He is an Interventional Cardiology Research Fellow at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

 

Academic History

From 2008 to 2013, he attended Cardiff University where he studied Medicine.1

In 2020, Dr Gilpin started work on a PhD in Medicine, Human Development and Health at the University of Southampton. He is working on the role of DNA damage and signalling in the development of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.1

 

Career Overview

Currently, Dr Gilpin is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Southampton and Wessex Cardiothoracic Centre.1

Dr Gilpin is a member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS) and the Royal College of Physicians and is a Trainee Rep of BCIS on the British Junior Cardiologists Association (BJCA).1, 2
