Biography
Dr Tom Ford is an interventional cardiologist with subspecialty interest in angina, radial access techniques, invasive coronary assessment, and complex PCI.
Tom graduated with the University Medal from Dundee, Scotland in 2007 and completed basic physician training in Edinburgh before emigrating to Australia in 2010. He qualified as a cardiologist (FRACP) training in Sydney’s Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals. His PhD on 'Chronic Coronary Syndromes’ was awarded in 2019 winning the University of Glasgow’s Bellahouston Medal. He has enjoyed invited faculty speaker roles at major cardiology scientific sessions including the American Heart Association (AHA), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), EuroPCR, and Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT).
He lives on Northern Sydney’s Central Coast and is the elected Australian National Young Ambassador to EAPCI and the NSW ambassador to the RACP training committee in Cardiology. His clinical roles include staff specialist interventional cardiologist at Gosford Hospital, with concurrent appointments at Sydney’s Prince of Wales Private hospital, Lake Macquarie Private and Gosford Private hospitals.
