For a weekend, a SCHILLER team participated in the Hacking Health Camp in Strasbourg and they were successful: their project “Open Heart” was one of the 12 laureates.

Recognised as the largest health hackathon in Europe with more than 450 attendees, the Hacking Health Camp is an international event where health professionals, engineers and entrepreneurs team up for a 50h-long marathon on connected health projects.

To participate, projects have to be submitted in advance. On the first night, every project leader has to convince the audience in a 1-min pitch to get through to the next stage and to form a team made up of people they have never met before. Throughout the weekend, the team works together to adjust the idea, establish a solid business plan and design a proto- type. On Sunday night, each project leader presents their idea, business plan and prototype to a jury of professionals.

Our team of specialists submitted the Open Heart project, a rehabilitation coach dedicated to people affected by cardiac insufficiency. Given that this disease affects about 2% of the pop- ulation worldwide and is the main cause for hospitalisation, this solution aims to help those people safely perform the physical activity they need to train their heart, using a mobile appli- cation and a connected bracelet.

Among the 76 projects that were submitted, Open Heart was one of the 12 laureates, receiv- ing the "Best connected object" price from the Arena42 incubator in Stuttgart (Germany). This project reflects the SCHILLER Group’s sense of innovation, which in turn suggests a promising future.
