Overview

In this series of short interviews and discussions filmed at AV Valves Summit 2023, the faculty delve into sharing invaluable insights and expert opinion on transcatheter mitral and tricuspid intervention.
They examine a range of topics which include the development of TEER, the importance of quality of life, repair vs replacement and how to best shape the future of MR and TR treatment.

The AV Valves Summit led by course directors Prof Francesco Maisano (San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, IT), Prof Marta Sitges (University of Barcelona, Barcelona, ES), Prof Marco Metra (University of Brescia, Brescia, IT) and Prof Ralph Stephan von Bardeleben (University Medical Center of Mainz, Mainz, DE) provided a platform to advance knowledge and shape the trajectory of this treatment in cardiovascular healthcare.

This programme is supported by an educational grant from Abbott.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the anatomy of mitral and tricuspid valves to inform appropriate intervention strategies
  • The importance of incorporating quality of life considerations into patient management plans, aiming to improve the overall well-being of individuals undergoing valve interventions
  • Learn to identify, prevent, and manage complications associated with mitral and tricuspid valve interventions to ensure patient safety
  • Explore evidence-based strategies for decision-making in heart failure management
  • Assess emerging trends and future innovations impacting the trajectory of mitral and tricuspid valve therapies

Target audience

  • Interventional Cardiologist
  • Echocardiographer
  • Heart Failure Specialist
  • Cardiac Surgeon
