Translational Medicine Academy (TMA) in partnership with Radcliffe Cardiology were delighted to announce the return of e-SPACE Heart Failure held on the 18-19 October 2024.

 

e-SPACE Heart Failure 2024 once again provided top-tier free virtual education and optimised geographical reach whilst delivering both global and regional insight. The thoughtfully curated programme explored how leading experts are incorporating heart failure guidelines into clinical practice and offered the latest information on patient profiling in heart failure for tailored medical therapy.

 

Building on the tremendous success of previous years, this event once again brought together TMA’s mandate for the delivery of continuing professional development to healthcare professionals to achieve concordance with appropriate treatment plans, with Radcliffe Cardiology’s goal to deliver cardiovascular knowledge to best support cardiovascular communities transform theory into practice.

Andrea Russo

Andrea Russo

Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Arrythmia Service

Dr Russo is Director of Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services at Cooper University Hospital, Director of the CCEP Fellowship Program and Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She has served on numerous HRS committees and task forces and is a member of the Heart Rhythm Journal editorial board. In addition, she has served as co-chair or member on several guideline, consensus document or Appropriate Use Criteria writing groups.

Dr Russo received her medical degree from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. She did her residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and her fellowship training at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Cooper Hospital. Areas of special interest include sex differences in arrhythmias, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, totally subcutaneous devices, atrial fibrillation therapy, and the role of digital health on arrhythmia management.

Professor of Cardiology

Fausto J Pinto, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, FASE, FSCAI, is a Professor of Cardiology at Lisbon University Medical School and a Senior Consultant at the University Hospital of Santa Maria. He also serves as Director of the Lisbon Cardiovascular Institute. Professor Pinto serves or has served as President of the Association for Research and Development of the Faculty of Medicine (2004–2010), Chairman of the Congress Programme Committee of the European Society of Cardiology (2008–2010), President and Founder of the European Association of Echocardiography (2002–2004), and Councillor of the European Society of Cardiology (2004– 2006). In addition, he serves on the Editorial Board of several international journals and is Editor in Chief of the Portuguese Journal of Cardiology. Carsten W Israel

Dr Carsten W Israel is Chief of Cardiology at Bethel-Clinic, Bielefeld, an Academic Hospital of Munster University, Germany.

Dr Israel participated in numerous landmark trials in the field of arrhythmias.

Scientific appointments include a number of guidelines and position statements, speaker of the Working Group of Arrhythmias of the German Cardiac Society.

Dr Israel is a member of the Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review editorial board, co-editor of EUROPACE and member of the World Society of Arrhythmias board. He is often published in scientific journals and frequently invited to congresses and numerous educational activities.

William T Abraham

Professor of Internal Medicine and Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

Prof Abraham is a College of Medicine Distinguished Professor. He has been recognized as one of the “Best Doctors in America” for 18 consecutive years.

His research has led to the approval/adoption of new heart failure therapies, including beta-blockers, natriuretic peptides, cardiac resynchronization therapy, ultrafiltration, implantable hemodynamic monitoring, transvenous phrenic nerve stimulation, cardiac contractility modulation, baroreflex activation therapy, and mitral valve repair.

Prof Abraham has authored more than 1,000 original works and has been named a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher and one of The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds.

He received the 2017 Distinguished Scientist Award from the American College of Cardiology.

Reinoud Knops

Reinoud Knops

Cardiologist

Dr Reinoud Knops is a Cardiologist at Amsterdam University Medical Center. He specialises in Cardiac Rhythm Management and focuses on Leadless Pacing, Subcutaneous ICDs and Lead Extractions. Dr Knops has a PhD in this field and has implanted over 150 leadless pacemakers. 

Dr Knops has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and is the Principal Investigator of the PRAETORIAN trial. He has implanted over 400 Subcutaneous ICDs, the largest single-centre experience globally.
