Overview
What are real-world studies telling us about selecting between repair or replace strategies for leaky valves? In this series of videos, we bring you up to date with how the dynamic is changing in favour of transcatheter approaches for a great number of patients, and provide some practical guidance for patient selection in both tricuspid and mitral regurgitation. We also explore how a rapidly accumulating body of real-world evidence is starting to shed light on new patient groups that stand to benefit from transcatheter strategies, and seek expert views from both a surgical and interventional perspective on the future success of these treatments.
Filmed following data released at PCR London Valves 2022, our faculty examine some of the latest real-world data on mitral and tricuspid regurgitation and put this data into context for practitioners.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the value of real-world data in the treatment of mitral and tricuspid regurgitation
- Review how patient selection for repair or replacement strategies may change in the near future
- Identify patient groups in whom transcatheter repair and replacement strategies may be preferable over surgical approaches
- Understand the value of surgical teams for transcatheter valve interventions
- Recall the latest real-world evidence on transcatheter repair and replacement treatments for tricuspid and mitral regurgitation
Target Audience
- Interventional Cardiologists
- Cardiac Surgeons
