Overview
Rhythm Interventions Online 2022 – one of the leading practical education broadcasts in electrophysiology – took place 30 November – 2 December 2022.
Bringing together a faculty of over 40 key opinion leaders, seven case centres from both sides of the Atlantic and a global audience of over 2,500 delegates, RIO 2022 delivered best-in-class education curated to support practical learning and, ultimately, better patient outcomes.
With practice at its core, RIO again presented challenging and complex live cases from centres of excellence, alongside hot topics, presentations and debate from electrophysiologists at the forefront of practice and global innovation.
Watch the full programme – including symposia – on-demand here.
Rhythm Interventions Online 2023 will take place 29 November – 1 December 2023. Watch out for further details shortly.
Note, the live version of this event was CME accredited; this on-demand version is not.

Richard Schilling
Consultant Cardiologist
Prof Schilling has been a consultant cardiologist at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London NHS trust since 2001. He was appointed as chair in cardiology and electrophysiology in 2009. His current practice involves all aspects of electrophysiology and management of cardiac arrhythmia including catheter ablation, implantation of pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy for heart failure patients.
Prof Schilling was part of the team that lead the merger of the Heart and Barts hospitals which is one of the largest heart centers in Europe. He is the Strategy Director for Barts Hospital, the Medical Director for the Arrhythmia Alliance and President-Elect for the British Heart Rhythm Society.
Prof Schilling is a member of the AER editorial board.
Carina Blomström-Lundqvist
Professor of Cardiology
Dr Carina Blomström-Lundqvist is Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiology, Institution of Medical Science, Uppsala, SE and Senior Consultant and Professor at the Department of Cardiology and Medical Science, Örebro University Hospital, Örebro, SE.
Dr Blomström-Lundqvist graduated in medicine in 1976, she went on to specialise in cardiology and internal medicine, and started research on haemodynamics and myocardial metabolism in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. With the developments in electrophysiology she switched her research interest towards arrhythmias and after 3 years she defended her PhD thesis on the diagnostic and prognostic implications of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia in 1987 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
At Uppsala, Dr Blomström-Lundqvist has become research leader for the arrhythmia unit, mainly focusing on research related to atrial fibrillation (AF). In collaboration with the Department of Thoracic Surgery, procedures for…
Devi Nair
Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology
Dr Devi Nair is a cardiologist and the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at St Bernard's Heart and Vascular Center in Arkansas, US. She also holds the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As an international leader in cardiac rhythm management, Dr Nair specialises in cardiac devices and cardiac ablation therapy.
Dr Nair has made significant contributions to the field through her numerous publications in leading international medical journals. Her extensive medical training began at the University of Kerala, India, followed by residencies at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, US.
