About the CLIMB® Skills Training Program

 

Now in its fifth year, the CLIMB program has provided free, advanced clinical skills training to over 390 women physicians from 99 countries. This online program helps address the underrepresentation of women in advanced procedural cardiology subspecialties.

Physicians worldwide will now have on-demand access to didactic presentations delivered by leading faculty on five key clinical topics:

Learn about managing obesity for cardiovascular prevention with Dr Erin Michos

Enhance your knowledge on strategies for the management of obesity from Dr Erin Michos, Associate Professor of Medicine within the Division of Cardiology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and winner of the 2024 Wenger award for Excellence in Medical Leadership.

Dr Michos offers a concise overview of the hormonal mechanisms behind obesity, including the role of adipose tissue as an endocrine and paracrine organ and the stages of cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome. She delves into the study of obesity as a brain-related disorder, and the outcomes of weight-regain studies.

Faculty Biographies

Erin D Michos

Erin D Michos

Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Women's Cardiovascular Health

Dr Erin Michos is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, with joint appointment in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is the Director of Women’s Cardiovascular Heath and Associate Director of Preventive Cardiology with the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease. 

Dr Michos is an internationally known expert in Preventive Cardiology and Women’s Health and has authored over 350 publications. Her research has focused on cardiovascular disease among women; coronary artery calcium, inflammatory markers, and other novel biomarkers of cardiovascular risk; lipids; and vitamin D and other supplements. She is an Associate Editor for Circulation and the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
