Overview
This independent broadcast will highlight the take-home messages from the new ESC Guidelines on Cardio-Oncology.
In the first part of the programme chairs of the new ESC Guidelines on Cardio-Oncology summarised the key take-home messages.
In the second part they answered questions coming from the audience with the moderation of Dr Arjun Ghosh.

Faculty Biographies
Alexander Lyon
Dr Alexander Lyon is a leading London-based consultant cardiologist, specialising in the field of heart failure, cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology and takotsubo syndrome. He is highly experienced, and is well-versed in all aspects of cardiology. Along with his private clinics at Royal Brompton Hospital and in central London, he is also senior lecturer for the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London.
Dr Lyon graduated with a first class degree from Oxford University, and gained experience doing post-graduate training in London and Sydney before setting up private practice in London. His clinical interests are in the field of heart failure, chemotherapy cardiomyopathy and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and he is the theme leader for heart failure research in the NIHR-funded Biomedical Research Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Teresa López Fernández
Prof Teresa López Fernández is a clinical investigator and consultant cardiologist at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, ES. She specialises in cardiac imaging (she is board certified in advanced and transesophageal echocardiography by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC)) and cardio-oncology (she is board certified by the International Cardio-Oncology Society), and currently coordinates the cardio-oncology team at La Paz University Hospital. She is the founder and chair of the Spanish Cardio-Oncology Working Group at the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) and the Secretary of the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology.
Arjun K Ghosh
Dr Arjun Ghosh MBBS, MSc, PhD, FHEA, FACC, FESC, FRCP, FICOS is a Consultant Cardiologist at University College London Hospital (UCLH) and Barts Heart Centre, London, UK.
He helped establish and grow cardio-oncology services at UCLH and Barts Heart Centre which are now amongst the biggest in the world. He is the clinical lead of the UCLH service which looks after all the cardiac needs of cancer patients and works to
reduce the cardiac side effects of cancer treatment. Patients are evaluated before, during and after cancer treatment (be it chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or surgery) to ensure optimal cardiac outcomes for these patients.
